Holy Lamb Organics Baby Bedding
WOW! This bedding is magnificent! I just received the Holy Lamb Organics Cozy Buns baby bedding system and I am very impressed. The hand quilted flannel fabric used to make the comforter is so soft and the weight of the comforter is light and fluffy, I am delighted to offer my baby girl such snuggly comfort! The All In One bumper pad is beautifully crafted and is perfect for protecting tiny heads! I like that I don’t need an additional cover (although Holy Lamb does make an insert and cover and I can see how that could be more convenient for washing). And the sheets!! OH SO SOFT! I think I’ll order some for my bed too :O)

When you shop with Holy Lamb Organics, you will benefit from top quality crafted design and safe, healthy materials, but you will also support a company that is founded on safe, sustainable practices. Let me tell you more about them…
Holy Lamb Organics is a small manufacturing business located in Oakville, WA that is dedicated to creating exceptional natural bedding products. Holy Lamb uses sustainable practices and permaculture principles in every step of production.
Holy Lamb Organics was founded in 2000 when owner Willow Whitten was on a backpacking trip in the Redwoods. Faced with purchasing a backpacking pillow that was 100% synthetic, the idea of an all natural pillow alternative was born. Throughout the trip the idea sprouted further and by the time Willow returned home a full business plan was hatched.
In 2008, Holy Lamb moved the company to Oakville, WA, a small town near the state’s capital. Here Holy Lamb moved into the historic “Little Bit” general store that was built in 1902 and served the Oakville community for over 80 years as a general store. “Little Bit” has been fully restored to its original glory with innovative additions such as natural green insulation for the first time and an organic community garden.
This Is What You Support When You Purchase Holy Lamb Organics Baby Bedding:
Sustainable Practices
100% Zero Waste of Manufacturing By-Products: Holy Lamb reuses, recycles, or composts all the materials used in production. None of these precious raw materials ever enters a landfill. Why is this so vital? Because, there is “no away”. For example, even the smallest scraps of thread, wool and fabric are all composted using a vermiculture system (worms!) or used as the bottom mulch layer for paths in the community garden. Larger and more useful scraps are placed in the Free Bin to giveaway or donate to schools who use the scraps to make dolls and other creative projects. For example, the Brightwater Waldorf School in Seattle used Holy Lamb’s fabric scraps that come from the Nursing Pillow production, to make sails for boats that they floated down a river.
Committment to Sustainable & Organic: Holy Lamb offers only a line of natural bedding products and never uses any synthetics. They use organic cotton fabrics as cotton is one of the top 3 most heavily sprayed crops in the world. Let’s keep organics on the rise by committing to purchasing organic cotton products that do not rely on the use of herbicides, pesticides, and standard agri-business practices such as GMOs! Instead, let’s support the comeback of the small farmer who lives an enriched life and prefers to work with the land naturally! Holy Lamb Organics also uses the best and top of the line wool . All of their wool is grown by small U.S. sheep farmers who are part of the Premium Eco-Wool Program.
Chemical & Scent Free Facility: For the health of employees as well as for the quality of the products produced, Holy Lamb’s facility is a chemical and scent free environment using only natural, mild, bio-degradable soap to clean the shop. Employees come to work scent free and abstain from wearing perfume, cologne, scented handcreams, etc.
Green Building Practices: Holy Lamb’s committment is to use natural building products and salvaged re-used building materials. Here are some examples: insulating the building for the first time with a green insulation product called Aircrete instead of fiberglass. (It is so benign that you can eat it!) Using wool scraps to chink up any spaces in the 100+ year old walls. For new wood, Holy Lamb supports Wild Thyme Farm , an FSC certified sustainable tree farm with a 150 acre immaculate forest. The woodwork is finished with a non-toxic natural wood finish.
Employee Practices & Benefits: Holy Lamb Organics provides 10 green jobs for this rural town which is in need of more employers. The majority of jobs available in this area are in the logging industry, the casino, or raising cows and hay. A large percentage of the community commute to larger cities for their livelihood. Holy Lamb is committed to producing in the USA instead of outsourcing to another country. Employees receive a competitive wage in exchange for their tasks and skill sets. The Green Commuting Program offers cash incentives to carpool or bike to work. The staff also works on the community organic garden which provides solace, herbs, vegetables, fruit, tea, cut flowers and a sense of connection with nature while in a work environment. Holy Lamb Organics’ low overhead location and dedication to our highly skilled workers, allows them to be in direct competition with organic products produced overseas.
